How does the Smile Marketing dental website service actually produce new patients?

We use proprietary search engine optimization strategies, including directories, review sites, social media and other channels to produce qualified traffic to your site. We monitor the on-page behaviors of visitors to improve engagement and new patient conversion.

Can I add, edit and delete content on my site?

Yes. Use our password protected Content Management System. You can add as many pages as you wish.

You can edit the text and images that display on your site, with the exception of your home page. We prevent client access due to the significant damage that can be done that undermines our SEO strategies for your site. (Our eLearning curriculum is not editable, but if you have suggestions for improvement, tell us!)

Does Smile Marketing use the WordPress platform?

We started with the WordPress platform and then removed all the superfluous features that didn’t help produce new patients. Today, only about 30% of our software platform is WordPress.

Can I install WordPress plug-ins to my practice website?

No. When our clients see our familiar WordPress user interface, they often assume that we can accommodate specialty plug-ins designed to expand the functionality of their website.

Unfortunately, that’s not possible. We use a special version designed for multi-website administration for which most third-party plug-ins are not designed. Plus, third-party plug-ins represent a significant security risk, placing every website in our network in jeopardy.

What if I already have a dental website?

Upgrading is easy! You keep your current domain address and we simply transfer it so it’s hosted on the Smile Marketing servers. Most dentists switch to Smile Marketing because their old practice website is under performing. So, bring your photography, but leave your old content behind. We’ll conduct an interview and our writers will create more engaging, persuasive content for a fresh start.

How much flexibility do I have with the dental website design?

A lot. While all Smile Marketing sites use the same underlying platform and interactivity, they all look amazingly different. That’s because we take a design brief to understand your vision and branding objectives. The result is a unique, custom web design that reflects your individuality at a fraction of the price that others charge.

Is a Smile Marketing website HIPAA compliant?

Yes. Patient communication and the emails generated by your website are seen as an extension of the care you deliver in your practice. Every piece of patient communication from your website has the provision to opt-out. No diagnosis is ever linked with a patient’s name or other personal information. The website subscriber database is password protected, encrypted and can only be accessed by you or those you specifically nominate.

How do patients become website subscribers?

When your site is launched, we’ll seed your website subscriber list with an export from your practice management software. Then, as new patients begin care, someone from your team will go online to your console and enter the essential data and a welcome email with a new patient survey is sent to each patient. It takes just moments.

Can I post videos on my site?

By all means. If you have multimedia content (which you have the rights to), we’re happy to post it on your site. Some technical processing may be necessary to optimize it to “stream” online. We’ll take care of everything. It’s all included in your service.

How many email accounts may I have?

As many as you can actively use.

Will my site have American English or British English?

Your Smile Marketing site will use the prevailing English language spelling and turn of phrase used in your jurisdiction, plus tell us how you’d like us to refer to your patients. Choose between “patient,” “client” or “practice member.”

Can I see the newsletters before they are sent to my patients?

Yes. We’ll alert you about five days before each issue is broadcast to your subscribers so you can review the content and prepare for any questions that patients might ask. (Remember, a patient asking a question is a good thing! It means they read it. It means they’re thinking. It means they’re learning.)

What if I don't like one of the newsletter articles or blog posts?

No problem. Offer a suggestion on how to make the article acceptable and we’ll make the change. Or we can supply a different article or post. And if it’s unsalvageable, we can suppress the article or post altogether. (If this happens frequently, it may indicate that our service is not for you.)

Does my practice website show visitor statistics?

That and much more. Your Smile Marketing site includes a statistics package that shows the key new patient generating metrics. If you’re inclined, you can drill down to the most granular level. Most Smile Marketing clients find our New Patient Tracker statistics are all they need.

What happens at the end of the initial one-year service agreement?

Since we exceeded your expectations we hope you’ll renew! Like you, we want to create a long-term relationship with our clients. If you decide not to renew, we’ll transfer your domain to whomever you specify, thank you for the opportunity to be of service and part friends.

What do I get for the monthly hosting fee?
